Many of you have reached out that I write about other subjects in agriculture in addition to coffee sales. So starting today I will be posting what the government is doing and opportunities for the private sector and farmers in the sector..so keep it here…
We will start shortly with farmers registration. In the past there has been several efforts to register farmers in Kenya. We have had few islands of success. For the first time the government has registered all farmer using a platform called Kenya Integrated Agriculture Management Information System ( KIAMIS). So far 6.4M farming households. Over 6.M have phone numbers..over 5.5M produce crops… majority of our farmers are women 53%…very interesting insights.
