New EU MRLs for the Pesticide Chlorpyrifos

The EU published Regulation 60/2016 setting new EU MRLs for chlorpyrifos. This sets new lower EU MRLs for several fruits and vegetables. Please see MRLS in regulation attached.

We have been informed of a potential problem in relation to the new MRLs for the pesticide Chlorpyrifos – in some sectors such as dried fruits. The shelf life is much longer and the application date of 10th August 2016 which will mean that the new levels will apply to the current crop coming on to the market in October 2016. Should general produce members be aware of further problems in other sectors, please inform us.
