The Power for Food Partnership is a five-year regional programme  supported by the IKEA Foundation and coordinated by SNV, working across four countries in East Africa. The partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of Regenerative Agriculture (RA) and the Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE) to strengthen sustainable food systems, improve farmer livelihoods, and enhance climate resilience. In Kenya, the partnership is active in seven counties, bringing together public, private, and civil society actors to drive practical solutions that link agriculture, energy access, and enabling policies.

The Power for Food Partnership is implemented through three interconnected pathways designed to drive systemic change:

  1. Learn Pathway
Supports generation of evidence that showcase the integration of Regenerative Agriculture practices and renewable energy technologies, enabling farmers, agribusinesses, and policymakers to learn from practical, field-based evidence.
  2. Link Pathway
Strengthens agribusinesses, value chain actors, and service providers to adopt and scale commercially viable RA and PURE solutions, improving market access, productivity, and investment readiness.
  3. Leverage Pathway
Focuses on shaping enabling policies, investment frameworks, and institutional support systems that accelerate the uptake of RA and PURE at scale through evidence based advocacy and mobilisation of resources.

The Society of Crop Agribusiness Advisors of Kenya (SOCAA) implements the Leverage Pathway in partnership with the Kenya Renewable Energy Association (KEREA). Under this pathway, SOCAA works to promote favourable policies and regulatory frameworks that support the adoption of Regenerative Agriculture and the Productive Use of Renewable Energy across Kenya. Through this role, SOCAA contributes to creating an enabling environment that unlocks investment.
